Chiral scale and conformal invariance in 2D quantum field theory.
It is well known that a local, unitary Poincaré-invariant 2D quantum field theory with a global scaling symmetry and a discrete non-negative spectrum of scaling dimensions necessarily has both a left and a right local conformal symmetry. In this Letter, we consider a chiral situation beginning with only a left global scaling symmetry and do not assume Lorentz invariance. We find that a left con...
متن کاملGauge invariance in wavelet - based quantum field theory
Continuous wavelet transform has been attracting attention as a possible tool for regulari-sation of gauge theories since the first paper of Feredbush [1]. However, up to the present time, this tool has been used only for identical substitution of the local fields in the local action S[φ(x)] : φ(x) → φ(x) = 1 C ψ 1 a d ψ x − b a φ a (b) dad d b a , where φ a (b) is a field measured at point b w...
متن کاملRelativistic Violation Invariance, Multiverses and Quantum Field Theory
The possibility of interaction among multiverses is studied assuming that in the first instants of the big-bang, many disjoint regions were created producing many independent universes (multiverses). Many of these mini-universes were unstable and they decayed, but other remained as topological remnant (like domain walls or baby universes) or possibly as mini-black-holes. In this paper, we study...
متن کاملDerivation of Poincare Invariance from general quantum field theory
Starting from a very general quantum field theory we seek to derive Poincaré invariance in the limit of low energy excitations. We do not, of course, assume these symmetries at the outset, but rather only a very general second quantised model. Many of the degrees of freedom on which the fields depend turn out to correspond to a higher dimension. We are not yet perfectly successful. In particula...
متن کاملAgainst Field Interpretations of Quantum Field Theory
I examine some problems standing in the way of a successful “field interpretation” of quantum field theory. The most popular extant proposal depends on the Hilbert space of “wavefunctionals.” But since wavefunctional space is unitarily equivalent to manyparticle Fock space, two of the most powerful arguments against particle interpretations also undermine this form of field interpretation.
